Hi!

I’m Rob Skinner – but I get called Robert when I’m being told off. My wife calls me Ert. (The part of ‘Robert’ that I don’t often use…)

I worked in public relations for over 35 years, mostly in financial services, for brands including Nationwide Building Society, HSBC, Marks & Spencer Bank and PayPal. I always enjoyed explaining things like pensions, investments and paying by smartphone in plain English. But these days I’m relishing early retirement, aside from spending time as chair of the board of governors at my son’s old prep school in Buckinghamshire.

The rest of the time? Cycling, reading, blogging – and occasionally practising my Welsh (dwi’n dod yn wreiddiol o Gaerdydd, prifddinas Cymru).
