Sky announced its free broadband offer in a blaze of publicity a month ago.
I registered my interest, despite being happy with Virgin Net’s service. I’ve just received an email from Sky’s Samantha Beresford, which has left me totally confused. It starts by saying:
"Thank you for registering your interest in Sky Broadband. We are currently
rolling out our state-of-the art network across the country, but your area won’t
become live for the next 12 months."
But goes on to say:
"We have had extremely high demand for
Sky Broadband, however, we hope that we will be able to deliver it to you in the
next few weeks."
I’ll be sticking with Virgin Net. The service is good – and they’ve just contacted me offering a free upgrade to 8Mbps.
I have recieved an email saying that I can now purchase broadband – after an incredible 2 hrs waiting for sky to answer my call – I was then told that the exchange in my area has not been unbundled and i would have o pay 17 pounds a month plus 40 pounds connection fee for a ‘ third party’ company to deliver a lower speed service than i’m on now !!! COME ON Samantha Beresford SORT IT OUT !!!!!!!!!!!
